Birthday gift

Image
Remember the tap dancing video? Well, Keith thought it'd be fun to get her a real pair of tap dancing shoes. When he went to the store to buy them, the lady asked where she was taking dance classes. He told her she wasn't and that they were just for her to play in. (I think it surprised her.) Maybe we'll have to try tap classes someday. I thought they were the wrong size so we went to exchange them. While there, one of the employees taught AC a little dance. She practices it all the time now. :) She loves to give shows too. The fireplace area allows the shoes to make lots of noise.

Update on EK

A big accomplishment for EK is that she's riding the bus to and from school now! We started a couple weeks ago. It comes right outside our house and the bus driver and the aide are so sweet! The first morning was rough. She was really upset, which upset both Keith and me. I wasn't sure we had made the right decision, but we decided to try it one more morning. Keith took her out to meet the bus the 2nd morning and she walked right onto the bus without crying. I don't think she's ever adjusted so quickly to anything. We are so proud of her! We have to get her up at 6:30now, so she's ready at 7:10. It's early, but I'm thankful that Keith is here to help with our morning routine. Another improvement for her has been sleeping. (Do I dare right this?) For months, she has been crying loudly for at least 30 minutes each night. It's really hard, especially when I'm not sure why she's so upset. Is she scared of something? Is she not tired? Does something...

One month old

Image
On September 20th, AK turned one month old. It's hard to believe! He's growing fast and getting bigger. He's really starting to fill out. I went to a friend's house today (Thanks Carrie!) so I could weigh him and he is a whopping 11 lbs. 4 oz!! He was only 8 lbs. 8 oz. at his 2 weeks check-up. He's 5 weeks old today. He eats all the time (including nighttime) so it doesn't completely surprise me. I do think he's capable of doing a longer stretch now, so we'll work on that. I need him to start sleeping at least one good stretch (even 5 hours would be fabulous!) He's sleeping in our room in his bouncy seat b/c of some reflux. I imagine he'll stay in our room for another month or so and then we'll try to move him to his crib in AC's room. Praying he sleeps better by then! :) He's a pretty easy going baby. He loves to be held (and I'm willing to do it!). He will take a pacifier if he's not too hungry. He really calms down when...

Three Babies

Image
Here's a picture of Andrew at about 2 1/2 weeks.   Here's a picture of Emma Kate at a couple weeks old. Here's a picture of Aubrey at one month old. Who do you think AK looks like? At this point, I think he favors Emma Kate a little more than Aubrey. We'll see in a month if I still think that. Babies change so quickly the first year! :)

Pledge of Allegiance

AC has gone to preschool now for 6 days. A couple days ago, she said a few phrases of the pledge of allegiance. I had no idea they were teaching it to them. I helped her with the parts she didn't remember. By Saturday, she was almost able to recite the entire thing! She constantly amazes me! :) **I apologize if the camera is moving a little. I was holding AK and didn't want him to fuss while recording. **

Aubrey turns 4!

Where does the time go? I cannot believe my AC is now 4 years old! :) On her official birthday (9/6) she went to preschool. She got to be line leader, wear a special birthday badge, took snack for her friends and got to pick a friend to sit at the special table for lunch. I think they sang to her at least 3 times there. :) That evening, we had cake and ice cream as a family. She was very excited! Blowing out the candles Then on Saturday (9/10) we had a small party with our extended family. Who wouldn't be excited about having cake and ice cream two times in a week? Opening presents while cousin M watched We had a great time celebrating our sweet girl! What a special gift she is to us! Our family would not be the same without her. She is a great sister to EK and AK. She keeps mommy and daddy on their toes and provides lots of laughter. She has such a tender heart and a giving spirit. I cannot wait to see how the Lord works in her he...

My 3 cuties!

Image
We tried a week ago to get a good picture of all 3. WOW! I thought it was hard with just 2. I'm not sure we'll ever get one where all 3 are looking and happy. :) Something to strive for, I guess.

In honor of a MSU football win...

Image
College football has begun! Sadly, Keith couldn't watch the game on TV. He did keep up with the score via the internet. :) MSU Bulldogs had their first win against Memphis last night (59-14). I thought it was only appropriate for AK to wear some of his MSU attire to celebrate! :)

First day of preschool

Image
AC started preschool on Tuesday and goes 2 days a week. She has been so eager for this day to arrive. You wouldn't know her excitement by the her face, would you? After picking her up on Tuesday, I asked her what her favorite part of the day was. Her reply? "Lunch!" She got to sit at the special table with a new friend. She also told me she didn't eat all her lunch. I figured it was because she was full, but she then told me it was b/c she and her new friend were being silly. :) I am so glad she's enjoying herself. There was a little doubt in my mind when baby brother arrived. She started telling me how she'd miss me and that she didn't want to go to preschool. Thankfully she's back to wanting to go. This next Tuesday she gets to be the special helper because it's her birthday. I know that will be a fun day for her! :)
