First few days at home with EJ

Lots of turns holding the baby. AC does a great job! It's so nice to have her hold EJ so I can do something like start a load of laundry or wash some dishes.   AK likes to hold her too, but sometimes EJ isn't too happy about it. In fact, he asked at dinner the other night, "Why doesn't baby Eliza love me?" We asked why he thought that and he replied, "She fusses when I hold her." The girl loves her swing. I am so thankful we have it! This is where she sleeps at night and sometimes during the day. I have to wake her up at night to feed her. An attempt at getting a picture of all four. Boy, this is going to be fun! ;) Big blue eyes! We went for her 2 week check up and she had lost weight. (I've never had a baby do that.) She was 9 lbs 3oz at birth and was 8 lbs 14 oz when we left the hospital, which is great that she only lost 5 oz. When we went for her 2 week check up she was down to 8 lbs 8 oz, instead of being b...

Introducing Eliza Joy

EJ made her arrival on Friday, January 30th at 12:51 pm. She weighed 9 lbs, 3 oz and was 21 inches long. I actually went in that Friday morning at 6:45 to be induced (b/c I was quite worried about how big she was) and when I got there, I was having some contractions on my own. All my doctor had to do was break my water and soon I was in active labor and Eliza was here.  Here are a few pictures (HA!) to show that day... AK and AC were so excited to meet her. They came that evening to see her with Mimi and Pops and Uncle Steven.  AC is a natural! She's been such a help! Pops meeting grand baby number 8 My sister Becky her husband Brad and my niece and nephew came to meet her that night too.  (She's expecting a girl in a few weeks.) Big Bro! Big Sis! Big Sis Eliza Joy We went home Sunday morning. Baby girl took to a pacifier. All my girls have loved their pacis. AK was the only one who wouldn't take it.  My Gramp...

Robert Foster 1920-2015

It is with mixed emotion that I write this post. My dear Grampa went to be with the Lord early this morning. He fell Friday afternoon and broke his hip. During the night, he developed pneumonia and went downhill quickly. After seeing him Saturday evening, I began praying that the Lord would merciful and not make him suffer long. He was on pain medicine to keep him comfortable, but it was causing some side effects which made him very confused. While I'm sad to lose him, I know he's in a far better place. I don't just say that to make me feel better. Grampa Foster was a godly man who loved the Lord and realized long ago that believing in Jesus Christ as his Savior and Lord was the only way to be saved. He served the Lord faithfully for many years, pastoring the First Baptist Church in Port Jervis, NY for over 40 years. Even after he retired, he still used the gifts the Lord gave him. He filled the pulpit in several churches and even taught a Sunday School class just a few ye...
