Just playing

Here are a few pictures from the past couple weeks. AK is my most willing subject right now (and he's with me the most.) Such a fun age!! AC cracks me up. She has a great imagination and told me that all the animals and dolls were having a reunion. :) I found this boy asleep in his rocking chair last week. (He is awake here. He woke up from the time I peeked in on him to when I had my camera.) Not sure why he thought it'd be more comfy than his crib. Needless to say, he hasn't done it again. :) A couple funny things or just things I want to remember: AK will belt out "Let it Go!" randomly. It's obvious that he has a bigger sister who's seen "Frozen".  EK has been following a few more simple commands lately. This morning she was sitting at the table and I said " Come on. We need to get your coat on for school." She got up and followed me to the front door where her coat was. :) She will also sometimes come over to you...

Life the past couple weeks

Here are just a few pictures of what's been going on here the past month or so. My Grampa came down here mid-January to get away from the cold and wintry weather. It's been great to see him almost every day. We go over around lunchtime to get his lunch ready and visit with him a little. I am thankful AK was able to meet him and that the kids are able to spend some time with him. He's doing pretty well for a 93 year old man!  AK was supposed to be napping the other afternoon and obviously wasn't. He's been fighting naptime lately. (WHY do kids do that? I'd give anything for a nap!) Anyway, I heard him open his door so I knew he was out of his bed. When I went in to put him back in, I found this!! :( Stinker!! AC had a valentine's party last Wednesday and wanted to make cookies for her friends. :) Her friends said they were yummy! This was last week. It was only 10:15 in the morning and the boy was already worn out! I met one of my mentors a cou...

SNOW!!

Image
Back in December we had a horrible ice storm. It meant being stuck at the house for over 4 days! Today we got some snow. REAL.SNOW! EK had school b/c it didn't really start until after school started. I'm praying right now she gets home safely in the next half hour. Our bus driver is from IN so I know he knows how to be careful. Texas natives, not so much. It was a home school day for AC so after we got school work done, she bundled up and asked to go outside. It makes me laugh how much she LOVES being out there. She came in for a bit and then asked to go back out when AK went down for his nap. :) She did tell me that it'd be more fun with someone to play with. Sweet girl! AK has had a cough the past couple days so I didn't want him out there today. Here are a few pictures of the pretty weather...well, it's pretty when you don't have to leave your house! :)
