Haircuts and Patches

Image
I have been trimming EK's hair for about 6 years. Her last haircut at age 3 was very stressful for both of us. I really wanted something shorter and knew I couldn't do it, so I asked my sweet hairdresser. Ms. Marjorie came over to our house during spring break and cut it. I really had no idea how EK would do...if she would sit still, cry the entire time, try to get away, etc. She did GREAT for most of the hair cut. I sat right in front of her and held her hands. She really didn't try to reach back where the scissors were. Next time I should probably help hold her head level. EK doesn't understand that she needs to do that. I think it turned out so cute! When I took her to the bathroom to have her look at it afterward, she smiled. :) She's gotten lots of compliments! Last Tuesday I took AK back for his follow-up eye appointment. He got glasses right after Christmas and the doctor wanted to see what kind of progress he'd made. She had mentioned eye patchin...

1 month old!

This picture was taken at 3 weeks. It was her first Sunday to church. :) Normally I wouldn't take a baby this early during flu season, however, AC was presented with her first real Bible along with her first grade friends. I wanted to be there for AC. :) On a side note, AC loves her Bible. She has read it every day since she got it. It makes me so happy that she has a hunger for the Word of God. May that continue and may it draw her heart to Him.  Mimi kept EJ during the 11am service and little miss slept the whole time.  Can't believe it's already been a month! Sweet girl! We went back this past Thursday for a weight check and she finally gained some weight. 12 ounces! She is up to 9 pounds, 6 ounces now. Praising the Lord! I bought a scale today so I can weigh her periodically to be sure she keeps that up. :) I'm trying not to stress out about it, but I also want to be proactive. Don't want to go back for her 2 month appointment and find out she hasn...

Winter weather

Image
Last week was quite the week. Freezing rain started Sunday night and by Monday morning there was a sheet of ice on the roads. School was closed Monday and Tuesday b/c the temps didn't get above freezing on Monday to melt it. On Friday morning it started snowing 30 minutes after we put EK on the bus. It snowed all morning!! We got several inches and AC was very excited to go outside to play in it. The ice wasn't much fun to play in. :) School released early at 1pm on Friday. I can't believe it's March now and the weather men are predicting more snow on Wednesday and Thursday. What a crazy LATE winter! While I'm eager for warmer weather, it's fun to see my kids so excited! I should remind AC how lucky she is to home school so she had more time to play in the snow too. :)
