It's gone!

Image
EK has lost her first tooth! Here's a picture from yesterday afternoon of the loose tooth. I was wiggling it a little each day since she wouldn't touch it. It didn't seem to bother her. When we got to my parents for Thanksgiving dinner last night, I realized the tooth was gone! I guess it fell out and she swallowed it? It's so strange seeing my sweet girl with a missing tooth! Her adult tooth is coming in already. Probably the reason the baby tooth was loose. :)

Happy Birthday

to my two favorite guys! :) Keith celebrated 480 months of life today (40 years) and AK celebrated 3 months! Love them both dearly!

3 months old

AK is 3 months old today! These past couple months have gone by quickly. He's such a sweet addition to our family. :) He's telling me "enough pictures mama!" Sweet boy in his bouncy seat...aka his bed. He's still in our room right by my bed. :) This is what happens when mom leaves him home with daddy and AC. :) He didn't seem to mind... If he's in a good mood, he'll lie on his play mat. He loves to watch the star that lights up and play music. We need to do tummy time more. This boy will never roll over! Trying out the bumbo seat. How cute is it that he puts his hands together?? :) Happy boy! At 3 months: * you love your hands! You like to have them near or in your mouth. *you love your sisters. The other night, Keith had him in the living room while the girls were taking a bath and AK got so upset. When he brought AK in the bathroom, he stopped crying. I thought maybe he wanted to be with his mama, but when I to...

Love my EK!

Time is flying by so quickly! EK has been in school for almost 3 months. She is really happy there, from what I can tell. She gets to see Mimi (my mom) every day. She has three sweet teachers who are very kind and patient. Her teacher, Ms. Mandi, sends home a note each day to let me know how her day was. I really like to get a little glimpse of what she does for 7 hours each day. One thing that continues to impress me is that they eat lunch in the cafeteria. I can't believe that EK sits at the table with all the noise and chaos of lots of kids there. She doesn't eat as much as she would at home, probably b/c she's kid-watching, but she's happy to be there. I think eating at a restaurant might be successful in the near future. We did go to church last night for a church-wide meal. I know there were at least a couple hundred there last night and EK did great! We sat with my parents and my brother's family and I was able to eat my meal. :) Several people came over to ...

Fort Worth Zoo

Image
Keith and AC were watching a show on the Discovery Channel last Thursday night about animals. The zoo came up in conversation and I realized that AC had never been to our local zoo! Fort Worth has a pretty nice one. I have been quite a few times in the past between teaching 2nd grade and taking EK. We just haven't gone in the past 4 years, so we decided to go the next day. It's Keith's day off and it ended up being a PERFECT day to go! It was more crowded than I thought it would be with school groups, but at least they were elementary kids. :) The weather was absolutely beautiful...a cool breeze with the sun shining! AC posing near the elephant.   AK wanted out of the carseat to look around. AK has discovered his hands. :) AC and me on the stagecoach A very tired AC after a fun day! :)

It's that time of year....

for sickness! YUCK! Usually my girls are very healthy. This year, AC caught a virus. She was complaining early last week that her ribs and side were hurting. She only got sick once Wednesday night so I took her to the doctor on Thursday to rule out a kidney infection. He said it was probably just a virus. We did rule out a kidney infection while we were there. Friday morning we went to get EK up for school and realized that she had gotten sick in the night. Poor thing can't even tell us! We obviously kept her home from school. She spent most of the day on the couch, which tells you she was sick! That girl is rarely still for long. To spend hours resting is unheard of! I'm glad she realized her body needed to be still. Just when we thought the nasty bug was gone, AK got sick yesterday. I think I've been most worried about him since he's only 11 weeks old. After reading some on the internet last night, it said to nurse for about 5 minutes every 1-2 hours to not put too m...

Halloween 2011

Image
Or maybe I should call it "Reformation Day". You know, the day where Martin Luther posted his 95 Theses on the door of a Catholic church in Germany. ( Read here for more information .) Anyway, Halloween isn't my favorite holiday. I liked it as a kid so I could dress up in cute costumes and get lots of candy, but I never liked all the scary, spooky side of it. Neither does AC! Some people in our neighborhood put up some creepy decorations. Every time we drove by some, she would let me know that she didn't like it! Here are my two girls at the piano. Love it when I get a good picture of EK! :) AC was playing and singing while EK watched her. AK as a chili pepper. He didn't like his costume much and starting fussing the minute we got outside. I ended up carrying him while AC went trick-or-treating. My arm definitely got a nice workout! EK dressed up in a Minnie dress. She stayed on the sit and stand stroller, but I was pleased wit...
