AK's new trick

Image
AK has been sitting up well for about a month now. It always amazes me how fast it happens. He was toppling over a lot and then a couple days later, he was sitting up for a good 20 minutes. :) Well, his new trick? He can sit himself up! This is always the funniest thing to me when it first happens. I put him down for a nap. About an hour later, I heard him so I went in to get him and this is what I found! He is so proud of his new accomplishment. He does it ALL.THE.TIMES now when he's playing. He sits up, then makes himself fall down so he can sit up again! The other night he woke me up 3 different times b/c he sat up and didn't know how to get himself back down. Apparently it's different when you're sleepy or in your crib. Lil' Stinker!

Family Field Day

Image
Last Saturday was our church's 3rd annual Family Field Day. It's been a great outreach for FBC Keller. As a bonus, we get to have fun too! :) We spent a couple hours playing, eating and enjoying the beautiful day! AK's first time EK's first time to ride a pony. Keith said she did well. We may look into hippotherapy (horse therapy) this summer. I'm glad she was able to try it and I'm glad she didn't freak out! :) AC wasn't sure about it last year but since her big sis was doing it, she had to do it too. :) AC and her friend K (These girls have been together since they were babies!) My brave girl climbing up all by herself! (There's no way her mama would've done this at 4 1/2 yrs old.) At the top and ready to slide down. When she was done, she tried convincing her 5 year old cousin to go. AC said "I'll go with you". M's response: "NO WAY!" :) AC patiently waited 20 minutes in line so she c...

Meet my newest nephew

Image
Colson was born to my sister and her husband last week. He came the day before we were leaving for MS and wasn't due until the end of the month. He and his mommy are doing well. My niece seems to be adjusting well. :) Pray for them as they transition to a family of four! What a sweet baby! He was so easy to hold after holding my almost 22 pound boy all day! :) AC LOVES babies! She couldn't wait to hold him. We love you little Colson. Andrew's going to enjoy having a boy cousin nearby to hang out with. Especially when there's 5 girl cousins! :)

I want to freeze this moment!

Yesterday when I went to pick up AC from preschool, I noticed they had painted some dandelion pictures. One said" I wish for a new teddy bear." Another said "I wish for a new princess dollhouse." My heart melted when I read AC's! She is such a thoughtful sister! :)

Trip to MS

Image
We made the long drive to MS last Wednesday to visit Keith's parents. I was SO proud of how well the kids did in the car. It sure made the 9 1/2 hours in the car more enjoyable! AC watched "Annie" at least 3 times going out there. I still have the songs playing in my head! We had a good visit. EK slept GREAT! (Read: She fell asleep every night by 8pm and didn't wake up until 7ish.) We let her have her own room. AC slept on a mattress in Grandma and PaPaw's room and AK was in with Keith and me. Grandma with 2 of her grandbabies Exploring their big backyard Grandma and AC making cookies Thanks for a great visit Grandma and PaPaw! Can't wait to see you again soon!

7 months old

Another month has passed! Look at this cute little boy! :) He is such a happy boy and brings our home much joy. Grabbing our toes Still love to play with our tongue (I think he is curious about his 2 bottom teeth) He loves playing in the exersaucer right now, unless he'd rather be rolling around on the floor. Like this...total freedom! :) Watching AC blow bubbles He's really babbling right now and wanted to share a few things with you! :) A few firsts this month: *first ride in the regular stroller *first ride in the top part of the cart *first ear infection (actually a double!) *first time sleeping in his crib without the bouncy seat! *first road trip (9 1/2 hours!) and first time to Mississippi! *switched from zantac to prevacid for reflux *first time to say da-da At a sick visit on 3/5, he weighed 21 lbs. 8 oz. He's wearing size 3 diapers and 12 month clothes. Now that he's sleeping on his tummy (and...

My 2nd child

Image
I realized that I haven't written a post about AC in a little bit. She is the one that will notice and I don't want her feelings hurt! We are blessed to have her as a part of our family. She is such a helper to me and a great "BIG" sister to EK and AK. She keeps me on my toes and daily puts a smile on my face. I am thankful for the conversations we have and to get a glimpse of her heart. Sometimes, the glimpse is something we need to talk about and improve, but more often, I see her sweet spirit and how the Lord is already working in her life. So neat!! Here's an example...for a couple weeks, she wasn't being very nice to EK. She was impatient with her and at times tried to stay away from her. Now, I know that all siblings have times where they don't get along. I grew up with 3 siblings so I get it. But now, I'm a mom and I want my kids to love each other. I know they won't always get along, but my desire is that they support each other and lo...
