Christmas outfits

Cannot believe it's almost Christmas!! We've had sickness moving through our house for almost 2 weeks. :( AK started first. I took him in to the doctor the next day to rule out ear infection or strep. Both were negative but his throat was really red so it was viral. I have been using a lot of my essential oils the past 2 weeks (mostly thieves and oregano) to help them feel better quicker. AK was better by Thursday afternoon. AC woke up Thursday morning not feeling so well. She bounced back pretty quickly too. EK started feeling bad on Saturday afternoon. I put her in her room to let her rest and she actually fell asleep. That's when I knew she wasn't feeling well. We stayed home Sunday and EK slept on and off during the day. I kept her home Monday so she'd be ready to go on Tuesday but she didn't bounce back so quickly. (I think because she isn't good about blowing her nose.) She went to school on Tuesday but at the very end of the day, had a low-grade feve...

Thanksgiving Round 1

Keith's brother's family came in town for Thanksgiving. It was good to see them. My kids love to play with their Houston cousins, especially since we don't get to see them as much. The older boys are so kind to play with AC and AK.  It was a beautiful day so the kids spent some time playing outside. Nice way to burn off some lunch. :)  AC with T (can't believe this boy is about to turn 12!) AK didn't want to pose for a picture so I took once while they were playing. Cousin B was very sweet to let the others pull on him and tackle him. Cousin C spent most of the time just exploring the backyard. He also thought it was fun to keep an eye on EK. EK just roams the perimeter. She loves to be outside. Our time with our Houston cousins is always too short, but we're thankful for any time we get to see them.  This isn't from Thanksgiving Day but I didn't have a good pic of just her. Here's one I took while practicing to use my ca...

31 weeks along

Image
....hopefully about 7 more to go. It might seem optimistic, but both AK and AC came around 38 weeks and still were about 8 1/2 pounds! Went for my 31 week check up and doctor did a 2nd sonogram. He said that everything looks good and that I wouldn't be too shocked that the baby is measuring big. Based on measurements of head, abdomen and thigh bone I was measuring 31 weeks, 4 days and he said baby was about 4 1/2 pounds. I get weekly updates on each week of pregnancy and that email said baby is about 3 1/2 pounds. Oh my! Hopefully this girl arrives before she's 9 pounds. :)  I ordered an infant car seat the other day. There are a few more things we'll need since I gave away pretty much everything after AK grew out of it....I thought we were done, but the Lord had other plans. :) We also need to rearrange bedrooms upstairs. AK is still in the crib. I think we're going to get bunk beds in AC's room. AC and AK will share a room until baby sister starts sleeping...
