I don't want to forget....

AC is performing again! :) She amazes me with how quickly she can learn a new song! We'll work on her pitch in the future. ;) This song is from Keith and Kristyn Getty's kids cd called " Songs that Jesus Said ". The Gettys taught us a couple of the songs at the True Woman Conference. I can't get them out of my head now. Very catchy and great truths! :) In case you can't tell what she's singing, here are the words: Stop and think, don't be so fast If you want to be first, you must be last It's upside-down and hard to do But you should put others first before you. Ms. Sharla has a ball pit in her classroom and she's told me many times how much EK likes it. The deep pressure she gets in there is very calming to her. I decided to make one for our house. I got a pumpkin container from our local grocery store. They were very kind to empty one out and load it into my car! :) I think we have a little over 1000 balls in there! It definitely took more than I thought it would! Totally worth it to see this girl smile. (Actually, both girls love it!) EK's smiling at AC See?? Happiness!! :) AC's favorite thing to do is hide...Where's AC?? Here she is! :)

It's pretty crazy that our 3 year old wants to get in this contraption...even more pathetic that we still have it in our bathroom! (Why have I held on to this thing?? Anyone want it??) I should let Graco know what a sturdy toy they made...one that can hold a 30+ pound child. :)

Wow!!! I had the privilege of attending most of the conference on Friday. (Thanks honey for watching the girls!) It was a precious time of spiritual renewal, encouragement, and conviction for me. Keith and Kristyn Getty led in worship. If you haven't heard of them, you must check them out! The Lord is using them in a mighty way. You may know some of the songs they have written, such as "In Christ Alone" and "The Power of the Cross". Friday morning I was able to hear Kay Arthur speak. What a great teacher of the Bible she is! I pray that I'm that enthusiastic about my love for Jesus when I'm her age. :) I also had the opportunity to hear from Fern Nichols and Karen Loritts. Both shared things that ministered to my soul. I was truly blessed by the prayer time with my sweet friend Sarah . I am thankful for the time I got to spend with her! The 2 breakout sessions that I attended were great! I've found some new blogs to visit in the past month or so. AC has learned all her letters and now we're working on the letter sounds. This lady has so many neat ideas and you can print them for free!!! She's pretty talented in graphic design! Last time I got several "B" activities...laminated a couple, made some games, etc. AC had a lot of fun doing them! You need to check out Confessions of a Homeschooler !!! The link will take you to her preschool letter of the week activities. She also does a ton more, so if you have older kids, you might still get some ideas. :)

We have TX Rangers fever here in the Sanders household! Disappointed they lost the game last night to the Yankees, but proud of our boys today! Here's AC sporting her antlers! GO RANGERS!!! :)

Some of you may remember the video of AC riding a tricycle last spring. She had the head knowledge of what to do, ("and push and push") but couldn't do it very well. I think her legs were too short. :) Yesterday she asked me to bring her tricycle inside. She got on and immediately sped down the hallway! Guess someone has grown a little! As you can see in the video, she almost ran me over! ;)

Keith was given tickets on Thursday for Saturday's Rangers vs. Tampa Bay play-off game. To say Keith was excited is an understatement. He LOVES baseball!! For the non-Ranger fans, this is the first time the Rangers have made the play-offs in the 11 years I've lived here. They won the first two games in Florida so we were hoping for a win to sweep the series. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. Here are some highlights of our day: Here are the tickets! I try to give AC choices whenever possible. Perhaps it goes by to my teacher days and "Love and Logic" Training?? (Anyone else?) A while back, I taught her "Eeny, meeny, miney, mo" to help her make a choice when she likes both options. Here's her version: Eeny, miney, mo catch a tiger by it's mo Eeny, meeny, miney mo! (I've tried to gently remind her that tigers have a "toe" not a "mo", but she continues with her take on it! :) Tonight in the bathtub, she was looking in the the little mirror (I think it's a drain so the tub doesn't overflow). She was commenting on all her body parts. "I have a nose and a tongue. Here are my teeth and my lips. I have arms and sleeves." What a minute...did my daughter just say that she has sleeves?? After asking her about it, she adamently replied she does have sleeves. I guess she's given a new label to a part of her arm. :) One of my favorites: You're the best mom in the be...

I can't believe EK's been in preschool 6 weeks now! Wow! Today I had a phone conference with Ms. Sharla. :) The most improvement so far has been that EK is "ready to learn", as Ms. Sharla puts it. Last year, EK was so anxious and upset that she was spending all her time trying to cope. There was no learning going on at first. EK has started this school year completely different. She is much calmer and happier and, therefore, able to spend time learning! Exactly what we want! :) EK is ok with people coming into the classroom! (familiar or new) I know that might sound weird, but it was very upsetting to her last year. EK greets everyone in the school, even new people, with a high five. :) Next goal is to work on waving. EK uses PECS (picture exchange communication system) to make requests for snack at ABA therapy and preschool. I'm trying to get better about using them at home. We're also trying to move to making choices in activities (bubbles or book) and acad...

We went to the Pumpkin Patch today. This is an annual event for us. EK was 10 months old the first time I took her. We did have a first today though...Daddy went with us. A couple days ago, I realized that EK didn't have school today. Since it's Keith's day off, I asked if he wanted to go with us. I knew it'd be nice to have an extra set of hands so I could try and get a couple pictures and not lose the girls! :) If you remember my posts last year about our visits to the Pumpkin Patch (we went with school and friends), you'll know it was a disaster. EK was so upset that it was hard to enjoy our time there. This year was so different! Thank goodness! We went at a time I knew it wouldn't be too crowded and we brought her stroller. I'm not sure if those things made the difference, but I'm thankful for her better mood! The weather was perfect too.
