Thanksgiving

Image
We had a great Thanksgiving this year and were able to celebrate with both sides of our family in one day! Keith's brother's family came up from H-town. We had lunch over at Keith's parents house. It was so nice just driving 2 streets over! :) AC had a GREAT time! She loves her boy cousins from Houston so much. We'll need to try and see them again soon! EK kind of had a hard time. She spent a good portion of the time out in the backyard. She loves to be outside. Here's one of AC and AK, with B (He is so big! He was only 4 when Keith and I got married. My how time flies!) Here's AK and AC with cousin C. The boys are only 2 months apart. It took AK a little while to warm up to C. C loves to hug and I guess AK isn't used to that. By Saturday morning, AK was ready to play. :) AC and T playing Until C got in the middle of the fun. :) Here's one of EK observing from the side. After a couple hours, we went home to let AK nap before we h...

Christmas photo session

Image
Our friend Jamie (who took our other pictures a month or two ago) agreed to try and get some Christmas pictures for us. I'm not gonna lie...I get very anxious over Christmas pictures. It's stressful. For those of you who agree with me, add a special needs child into the picture. What stresses me out the most is that EK is a BEAUTIFUL girl. But most pictures don't show that. :(   I decided to go where we have taken pictures the past couple years. As I was getting ready that morning, I realized I was crazy to think that I could handle all 3 kids while Jamie tried to get good shots. I called my mom and thankfully she and my dad were able to meet us there. They were a HUGE help. Andrew is so mobile this year and I wanted to be able to try and get a smile from EK.   Jamie got some great shots. I have not included any that I used on our Christmas card. You'll have to wait for that! :)   A couple of my favorites: This was the best smile that we got from EK that da...

First haircut

Image
On October 29th, I took AK for his first haircut. It was getting far too shaggy, as seen in the picture below. AC was the awesome photographer! ;)   Here's one with Ms. Marjorie. She cut my hair about a month ago AND she's one of AC's preschool teachers! We are blessed to know her! :) **Go visit her at The Niche in Keller if you need someone to cut your hair!** Big boy definitely doesn't look like a baby anymore!

Halloween

Image
Here are pictures from almost a month ago! We carved a pumpkin. AC wasn't fond of scooping out the insides. I did it though b/c I LOVE roasted pumpkin seeds. YUM!   This year we had a Mississippi State University Cheerleader A MSU football player And a MSU fan! :) Trick-or-treating was harder this year b/c we had kid's choir at church from 6-7pm. I couldn't justify skipping church. :) We went to a few houses before left for church at 5:45, but I felt like it was too early. Next year will be a little easier with Keith home to help!

EK's ARD/ update

Last Friday, I went to EK's annual ARD. I had spoken with her teacher and her therapists (OT and speech) so I wasn't too nervous about it. It is getting a little easier now that this was the 4th ARD. EK has all new therapists and teachers this year. I have to say it's been a difficult situation, but thankfully she's adjusting pretty well. She's back to crying/protesting when her teacher wants her to work (or maybe her teacher last year didn't tell me that she was protesting?) I told her new teacher to make her do it. Working and even playing has never been fun for EK. (Or at least since she regressed...she did play with toys appropriately when she was between 1-2 years old.) I don't know if it's because we started therapy at age 3 or if it's because we don't have a strong motivator or because she can't do the work. I really don't think it's the latter. She sure understands a lot more than you'd think, so I think she CAN do more. S...
