I don't want to forget....

Keith took a few days off last week so we could do some fun things around town. Now that EJ is 2 1/2 (and has given up naps) and we have a stroller for EK, it's a little easier to do family outings. We went to the Dallas Arboretum (which is only $1 admission and $5 parking for the month of August, if you're interested. It is pretty hot though, just FYI.), Cowtown Bowling and the Stockyards. Then we went to the farm Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. I want to go back when it's cooler and take more pictures. I had some of my bridal portraits taken in this spot where AC is. :) Fort Worth Stockyards AC and AK did this maze by themselves. I was a tiny bit nervous they would get separated and we'd lose one. Thankfully they stayed together. :) Waiting for the cattle drive to start. I've lived here since 1999 and I had never been down to this area...I'm kind of embarrassed to admit. Glad we checked it off our list. :) ...

We had some of our family out to the farm on Monday evening. AC and AK said it was a lot more fun to have cousins out there. :) We had sandwiches, homemade ice cream and made smores. Then later the big kids and Keith and my brother Jon lit some fireworks. I think it was a hit! Sure was a warm evening though. Keith took the cousins to the pond to fish a little. EJ wanted to be included too so she went with Uncle Jon. The kids didn't last more than 15 minutes. Ha! Enjoying vanilla ice cream with chocolate chips. :) This one did NOT like how loud the fireworks were. She preferred them when she was far away. Look at those curls!

Keith's parents celebrated their 50th anniversary on Sunday, June 25th. We had a come and go reception for them at the church that afternoon. My sister in law and I planned it all over texts/email and it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself. Laura was a huge help and I couldn't have done it without her! My inlaws enjoyed it so I'd say it was a success. My kids loved having their cousins in town for the weekend. 4th grade graduation My girl and me EK started riding the bus in Kindergarten and had the same bus driver and aide for 6 years. We are going to miss Ms. Yanty  and Mr. Jarrell. This man teased EK almost daily and she really liked him. Two of EK's first teachers ever...Ms. Colleen and Ms. Beth. They had her when she was only 3 years old. Ms. Tammey came to EK's class last year and that was so fun. Ms. Kim was with EK the longest. Ms. Flood was so good about high expectations with EK and being kind but firm. EK really likes Ms. Flood! I was a little nervous for a few weeks about where EK was going for int...

These pictures aren't great but I was playing with my camera settings and didn't want to use the flash. It would've helped to have a little more light coming in the through the windows.  But these girls were playing so well together and EK loved the attention, so I am sharing. 

Can you see the spunk in her eyes? This girl...sweetest thing at times and other times, super strong-willed. :) She loves music and wants to do anything her olders siblings are doing. She typically only wants to be held when she can tell I need to be doing other things, like get dinner ready. ;) She's putting several words together at a time and we understand her about 70 % of the time. She loves to eat, hates to take naps (although she really still needs them) and loves to play with playdough and color. She loves to be on the go, but isn't a good shopper, unless I let her watch something on my phone.  Look her her little fingers. :)
