Music class on November 11th
I am rather behind in posts since EK pulled the space bar off our computer a couple weeks ago. It was really difficult to type!! A family friend fixed it last night and I'm up and running again! :) Watch out!!!
EK continues to do well at preschool. She is comfortable there and enjoys going. I know this because she gets a big grin on her face when I open the car door at school for her to greet Ms. Sharla! She is off this entire week and it bothered her when we didn't go to preschool after therapy this morning. She can't verbally tell me that, of course, but she was frustrated when we stayed at the house longer than usual this afternoon.
Just to give you a little background...EK has either music or PE class every day with a typical pre-k class. Ms. Sharla has been proud of the strides she has made the past couple months.
On this particular day (11/11) in music, EK:
*found her carpet square when Ms. Sharla asked her to
*clapped on her own appropriately
*held 2 children's hands and went in a circle for "Farmer in the Dell"
*put her instrument in the box at the end of class
*put her carpet square up independently
Those are a lot of things to be proud of!!! Usually Ms. Sharla does a lot of verbal prompts and sometimes has to do hand-over-hand. Ms. Sharla said that was the first day she put her carpet square up all by herself. :) I'm thankful the Lord continues to work in EK's life and helps her to make improvements. If there's one thing autism has taught me, it's to be excited about little accomplishments. Little accomplishments are a BIG DEAL!! :)
